Sikkim Pharmacy Council

Sikkim Pharmacy Council is a statutory body, established by the Pharmacy Act, 1948 and the rules of the State i.e. Sikkim Pharmacy Council Rules, 2013. The Council shall consist of the following members namely:-

(a) Six members, elected from themselves by Registered Pharmacist of the State.
(b) The Government Analyst under the Drugs and Cosmetic Act, 1940(23 of 1940), ex-officio, or where there is more than one, such one as the State Government may appoint in this behalf.
(c) One member nominated by the members of Sikkim Medical Council.
(d) Seven members, of whom at least three shall be persons possessing a prescribed Degree or Diploma in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or Registered Pharmacists, nominated by the State Government. More

The first and foremost function of the Sikkim Pharmacy Council is to give registration to the Pharmacy Gradates in Modern Medicines, those passing out from different Colleges in India and every persons practicing in the State who claim to hold any Pharmacy qualification included in the Pharmacy Council of India needs to registered with Sikkim Pharmacy Council.
